EG Expanding Specialized Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) Solutions to Support Food Manufacturing Industry

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 4, 2025

Battle Creek, MI  – In response to evolving regulations and increased scrutiny around food safety standards, EG Workforce Solutions is proud to announce Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) for the Food Manufacturing industry. These services are designed to address the urgent need for specialized, compliant, and skilled talent in a sector that demands quality and accountability.

EG’s announcement is significant because the Food and Drug Administration is actively investigating eleven outbreaks or adverse events tied to E. coli, listeria monocytogenes, salmonella, or cyclospora. One of the most high-profile incidents involves McDonald’s. Slivered onions previously served on the chain’s Quarter Pounder burgers are the likely source of recent E. coli contamination, according to the FDA. At least 90 people from 13 states were infected with the outbreak strain and one death was reported in Colorado. Taylor Farms, which supplied the onions to McDonald’s and other food service customers, issued a recall and is facing inspections at its processing center in Colorado. There is now a proposed class action lawsuit against McDonald’s, seeking damages exceeding $5 million for customers who bought affected Quarter Pounders.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) recently issued a proposed rule to reduce salmonella contamination and illnesses associated with raw poultry products. It would establish two major standards:

  • Prevent raw chicken carcasses, chicken parts, ground chicken, and ground turkey products that contain any type of salmonella at or above a certain level from entering commerce
  • Require poultry establishments to develop microbial monitoring program to prevent contamination throughout the slaughter system

To respond to this historic step to combat food contamination and prevent costly outbreaks, food manufacturers will need expert support to comply with these enforceable standards. EG’s RPO solutions are tailored to help food manufacturers by streamlining the hiring process and connecting them with professionals who have the expertise needed to uphold critical safety protocols. EG recruitment experts design, implement, and manage a customized recruiting and onboarding program with scalability and flexibility. By outsourcing this critical function, food manufacturers can reduce time-to-hire, cut operational costs, and focus on core business activities while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations.

“Food manufacturers are operating in an environment where sanitation and safety cannot be compromised,” said Mark Lancaster, President and CEO of EG Workforce Solutions. “Our RPO services are specifically designed to deliver a highly qualified, agile workforce that helps our clients navigate regulatory complexities and uphold their commitment to public health.”

Research and industry data support the fact RPO outperforms all other recruitment strategies:

  • Companies using RPO partner services are 40% more likely to establish an effective talent pipeline for their open positions.
  • Organizations using RPO are 20% more likely to drive higher average tenure among incoming employees.
  • For every one-percent increase in the likelihood that companies will expand their RPO spend, those companies increase the likelihood of reducing employee turnover by 47%.
