Position Summary
The Business Unit Director (BUD) for the Heavy-Duty Truck (HDT) segment is responsible for setting and executing the commercial strategy, leading a cross-functional team, and driving profitable growth. This role oversees the full P&L, customer and market development, and ensures collaboration across Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Customer Service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the HDT business unit with accountability for revenue, margin, and profitability.
Develop and execute the commercial strategy, focusing on long-term customer partnerships and market expansion.
Build and lead a cross-functional team, including Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service.
Coordinate with shared services to meet performance goals.
Serve as the senior customer interface for key relationships; lead executive communications and negotiations.
Engage in industry forums and trade associations.
Use digital tools and financial models for forecasting and decision-making.
Partner with Marketing and Global peers for market intelligence and trends.
Oversee pricing strategy, contract management, and commercial risk evaluation.
Drive innovation by championing customer feedback and aligning development efforts with market demand.
Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering on new technology introductions.
Monitor program execution to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets.
Champion team development and foster a culture of growth and collaboration.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years of commercial leadership experience in relevant industries.
Proven success in owning a business P&L and leading growth.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in pricing strategy, cost management, and commercial agreements.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Experience with ERP and CRM systems.
