Our Story

In 1958, Jack Gray had an ambitious idea of connecting the hired to the hiring when he founded Modern Services—now EG Employment Group.

Over the decades, the company grew and evolved beyond a typical staffing service into a workforce solutions firm dedicated to Helping People Succeed. 

1958
Launch

Our mission to help people succeed began in 1958 when visionary entrepreneur Jack Gray founded Modern Services. What started as a typical staffing firm with a focus on placing engineers quickly grew into a hub of innovation.

1990's
Launch of Managed Services

Under the leadership of CEO Mark Lancaster, the company took a bold step forward and began managing non-core operations for General Motors. This high-profile client achievement put us on the map and paved the way for partnerships with other well-known brands. Lancaster and his team evolved our company into Employment Group Managed Services, our first venture into high-value workforce solutions.

In the 2010s, we became EG Workforce Solutions, a name that reflects our evolution into a comprehensive provider of workforce strategies. We also introduced Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) to meet the complex hiring needs and challenges of today’s businesses.
