Situation

Over the last 7 years, a company in the HVAC industry partnered with EG for their workforce needs. In 2024, the company was acquired by an out-of-state parent organization. This resulted in a shift in company culture and strategic direction.

The new leadership team, operating remotely, retained the local team in key leadership roles but sought to reshape internal culture and align the workforce with new expectations. To accomplish this, they leaned on EG’s long-standing relationship and proven ability to source candidates with both the technical expertise and behavioral traits needed to support this organizational change.

Solution

EG stepped in to guide the company through this cultural transition with a focused, agile approach. Leveraging its knowledge of the client’s operations, EG recruited clerical candidates who brought both HVAC industry experience and the temperament suited for a changing workplace. Additionally, using the Applicant Qualifier tool to assist in hiring the new clerical associates, EG assessed soft skills and behavioral traits to ensure cultural compatibility.

When a conflict emerged between a newly hired dispatcher and an existing team member, EG acted quickly–providing a backfill candidate within a week to avoid disruption. By assigning a seasoned recruiter who understood the nuance of these roles, EG tailored the hiring process to the company’s evolving needs, providing stability and continuity throughout the transition.

Results

  • The first placement in November 2024 remained with the company and continues to contribute meaningfully, reflecting strong retention and clear alignment.
